{The woman who fears the Lord} dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
- Proverbs 31:17
{The woman who fears the Lord}, her clothing is fine linen and purple.
- Proverbs 31:22
This is a well-dressed woman. She is dressed in dignity of character, in her delight in the Lord, in her kind disposition to her husband, children, servants, neighbors, and those in the marketplace. She is dressed in quality, well made clothes. She takes care of her inner self; she attends to her outer self. In her quiet spirit there is a balance that gives her freedom to dress in and to enjoy pretty clothing without her clothing defining her. She is not firstly known as the well-dressed woman; she is called the woman who fears the Lord.
I desire to be this woman. I want to be known as the woman who fears the Lord because it is true of me, that it is my real character. I also do appreciate beautiful clothing and like to dress nicely. To carry myself well and dress nicely is one way I can show that I understand that I am made in the image of God, that I have been saved from myself unto Him, that He loves me, that I am His child and He cares for me more than the lillies of the field, which are dressed quite nicely. (Matt. 6) To dress well is a shadowy picture of the great order and beauty of the Lord, the quality of heaven, the reality that one day I will wear garments of beautiful linen, of grace and praise.

well this summer will be exciting. pregnant and hot, i am sure you will see me with sweet tea and watermelon in hand, probably at the pool.
shopping for this summer is very *new* to say the least! and to say the most, really… and i don’t know what you think, or if you’ve even ever thought about it, but i feel like maternity clothes are either a. frumpy or b. old – like, make you look more mature old. y’all i am twenty five. i am a young married pregnant girl with braces. i have fair skin (and i wash with timewise and coat on the sunscreen!) and red hair. now typically in a nice ponytail with bangs. I LOOK YOUNG! and i want my clothes to resemble my steadfast youthfulness. even my maternity clothes.
this is especially why i think i would love that seersucker dress. youthfulness captured for every age, every season of life.
even my pregnant summer season of life. <3
PS if you’d like to join me in this shopping adventure, i’ll gladly accept your company!

It takes a daring woman to wear this hair - and I think its awesome! (also, honestly, a little skunk-like... but overwhelming more awesome than anything else..

These next few photographs are from WWD - Fendis Collection. In this particular snapshot, please draw your attention first to the architectural shoulder, the beautiful fabric, the DRESS!, the lady bag - which is of exceptional importance to the look; now down to the coordinating colored stockings, and last but not least, to balance the architectural/feminine feel, the grandma-like lady shoes. in a not at all your grandmas favorite color. J. Alane's Fine Lingerie and Essentials, Lassiter Mill, lingerie, North Hills, shopping, Valentines Day
J. Alane’s is a Fine Lingerie retailer on the Lassiter Mill side of North Hills Shopping Center. J. Alane’s is known as Raleigh’s premier store for a great bra-fitting and for supplying its shoppers with a variety of brands and styles for a perfect fit and look. The locally owned shop offers a whole new experience in lingerie shopping, providing its customers with a feminine, comfortable, and intimate atmosphere.
About a year ago, J. Alane’s was recommended to me through a group of friends who just *loved* their experience here, so I was very excited to try it out. The owner and her assistant were polite and professional. The consultation was straightforward and helpful. The kind assistant helped me to choose a few different pieces to try – All of them were perfect, so I let the price be the deciding factor! The store is large enough to offer good selection but isn’t too large to be overwhelming or intimidating. Since then, every time I shop at this store, I feel welcomed and at ease. Recently, I purchased soft, well made pajamas from there and am convinced I have slept better ever since!
J. Alane’s carries designers like Elle McPherson, On Gossamer, Chantelle, Spanx and their products range from bras and sleepwear to shape wear and dainty accessories.
This Valentine’s Day, married men can give their wives a little oh-la-la by shopping at J. Alane’s for upscale intimates in an inviting, tasteful setting. Women can treat themselves to a set of new feminine pajamas, and everyone can celebrate this special holiday of love!
~ Happy Valentine’s Day! ~

30% off in stock bags, accessories, handbags, Holly Aiken, http://hollyaiken.com, local Raleigh designer, Stitch, twitter
Stitch is one of my favorite local Raleigh stores. Holly Aiken, the owner of Stitch, sells her own designer handbags that are made on the second level her downtown storefront.
In order to describe well to you who Holly is and how great she is for Raleigh local business, let’s let the website do the talking :
Holly comes from a family of designers and entrepreneurs – her mom, Patsy Aiken, sells a line of locally famous children clothing that my sisters and I wore when we were little girls!
Now, I have grown up and moved on from Patsy Aiken – bigs bows and colorful stripes – to Holly Aiken – bold bags with colorful detail.
I own the Open Top Messenger – an indestructible bag that I used through my four years of college, many vacations, and one day may even use as a diaper bag!
I also carry the Large Clutch Wallet – a wallet that comes with a handy change purse. There are three credit card sized slots for all the cards in the world you could carry around – credit cards, gift cards, and business cards, as well as a large opening for anything and everything you think you want to carry around – including your iPhone!
In her store she offers a variety of bags, accessories, and even guitar straps (which Tyler owns and loves)!
Visit her store located near Moore Square in downtown Raleigh now through January 25 and receive 30% off on any in stock bag!

As Tyler and I went shopping for great Winter Sale deals, I started to notice all of the looks that are coming out for Spring 2010! I have put together a mini look book of great fashion finds that I think we can all agree will be great looks for the upcoming season!(Click on any of the pictures to take you straight to the website to see more spring trends!)
NAVY – Navy is a classic color that can go from day to evening, casual to formal, so it’s a perfect purchase during this recession. This spring trend color is found in form fitting sweaters, graphic skirts, and fun shirt dresses.
ORANGE – We all need a bit of fun in our wardrobe and the color orange provides the perfect punch of colorful fun! Look for quality fabrics or go for a less expensive purchase if you are simply enjoying this trend while it lasts.
NAUTICAL – A fun look to welcome spring will take you all the way through summer! (It’s everywhere! Forever21′s Spring Promo is “All Things Nautical”)

Martin and Osa keeps the nautical look understated and even gives the look an urban edge (check out the shoes!)
ORGANIC – Enjoy soft fabrics, easy fitting cuts, and feminine touches with these spring luxe looks.
BONUS – I have seen this practical and feminine bag in the Saks catalogue,
in the Ann Taylor store, and I hope to see it at Target for a price I can easily afford!

This bag at Ann Taylor for 226.- OR hope that this bag will be at Target for a less $$ price tag this summer!
Recession Proof your Wardrobe Tip – Most of these styles will go on sale! To know when the sale starts to purchase your size in your favorite color, sign up for the store’s email updates.

Happy Thanksgiving!
In the spirit of thanksgiving, I hope you will be generous in your gift giving this year. As we have been abundantly blessed by the Lord who is our Provider, let us give good gifts to our family, friends, and any others the Lord leads you to bless.
Here is some helpful information as you venture out into the craziness of
The Black Friday Shopping Day – Enjoy!!
A. In The News and Observer, the best deals I saw were at Rite Aid, CVS. and Walgreens.
Just to name a few…
Rite Aid is advertising .77 gift wrap, Herbal Essences for .99 with single rebate check, and a $5.00 rebate check for $15.00 purchase of Duracell batteries – perfect deal to stock up on batteries for all of your new electronics!
CVS is advertising B1G1 wrapping paper and with their deal plus a coupon, a GREAT deal on Colgate Total toothpaste.
Walgreens is advertising free Dove deoderant with Register Rewards, two for $2.00 M&Ms, and 2/$9.00 Cottonelle.
Old Navy is having some great sales too!
B. My aunt told me about a feature on Good Morning America the other day that listed a few good Black Friday websites – Here they are ::
http://www.blackfriday.info/ – Has all of The Black Friday ads now so that you can see who has the best price on this gift you want to buy and shop accordingly. The website provides information about which retailers have deals online and can be ordered Thanksgiving Day.
http://bfads.net/
http://www.cybermonday.com/ – The Monday after Thanksgiving offers incredible online deals
C. I read this great blog post from Southern Savers ::
Have you shopped at 6pm.com yet? I confess that I haven’t but they have my attention with their Thanksgiving weekend sale. They mostly sell shoes and accessories and their concept is that each day they have a crazy blow out sale on one or two brands.
This weekend the sales are:
11/27-11/29: Nine West Footwear and Accessories- $9.95 All Styles!
11/27-11/29: Clarks Footwear- Select Styles 80% off
11/27-11/29: KangaROOS Footwear- $16.95 All Styles!
11/27-11/29: Oakley Eyewear- $29.95 Select Styles
I’m not a name brand kind of girl, but Nine West shoes for $9.95… this is good. If you decide to join me in getting new shoes I have heard that they do sell out of common sizes so I wouldn’t wait for the last day of the sale.
Note: The prices aren’t going to show correctly until the first day of the sale (Friday), but you can go and window shop now.
